I met Jimmy Luxury in '03 or '04 when he was working on my house. He was improvising a little ditty about "man ass" after catching an accidental glimpse through the neighbor's window. We quickly got to work on 'Father's Day' for Diamond Lou's Great American Holiday Album. Brentwood Estates' debut would be soon to follow...
Winter of 1999 in Cape Cod Mass. A bunch of dudes (a band named David's Foote that is) living in a house that belonged to the guitar player's grandmother. That poor woman. We partied like it was 1999... Her nicknacks were fucked and we didn't even complete the album we came there to make... We did, however, complete Gongfarmers first (and only) album (to this date), Supercrapafabuloso. Made of shitty wine and Jaeggermeister.
It all started with Big Tree in 2001... Since then, Calvin and I have worked on several projects together, including his Nassira Project and Mad Cow and various incarnations of my Mobile Pleasure Lounge. Most recently, he and I did a duo recording for Undercarriage TV.
Don and I have been working together since somewhere around spring '06. From working on his second album, "Northern Liberties" to putting together numerous fun-tastic arrangements and gigs, it's always a good time...And we do enjoy ourselves some Yuenglings and Duncan Donuts coffee whenever possible.
I'm trying to get the footage of him allegedly getting his ass kicked by a bouncer in NYC (after he pushed a club owner to the ground who was trying to get him to stop climbing on shit). I always miss the brilliant bloodshed moments...
One day, I found out a childhood friend of mine was into playing guitar and had written some pretty cool songs. I showed him some chords, we played a few duo gigs at places w/ great beer most notably this one, then we made a record. It was fucking fun! Then he moved to LA and formed another band that cut their record at my spot (before we had even completed moving in).
Nate Farrar and I have been working together since '05 or '06 when he came in to record his debut album, Shell Shocked. More recently, we've completed a kids album entitled "A Diaper Full of Poopie" (loosely based on R.L. Burnside's "A Ass Pocket of Whiskey". Here's a track called Tacos!
